Summary
- Glass Aurora is a home-screen widget pack. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- The app reads health data (your step count) only to show it in the step widgets on your home screen.
- Your steps and other personal data stay on your phone. We do not upload them to our servers, and we do not sell or share them.
- Every permission is optional and is asked for only when you add a widget that needs it.
- You can delete all app data at any time (see Data deletion).
1. Health data: steps
The step widgets (Steps, Dot steps, Step buddy and Dashboard) show how many steps you have walked today, and a 7-day chart.
What we access
- Health Connect – Steps (read only). With your permission, the app reads your step count from Health Connect, so the widgets match Samsung Health, Google Fit or your watch. It reads no other health data type and never writes anything to Health Connect.
- Read health data in the background. With your permission, the app can read today's steps while it is not open, so the widgets on your home screen stay up to date.
- Physical activity (step sensor). If you do not use Health Connect, the app counts steps with your phone's own step sensor.
How we use it
- Only to display your step count and 7-day step chart in the app's widgets on your device.
- Step data is not uploaded, shared, sold, used for advertising, used for credit or insurance decisions, or used to build profiles. No person reads it.
The use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How long it is kept
Today's step count and one total per day (for the 7-day chart) are stored only in the app's private storage on your phone. They stay there until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app. Nothing is kept anywhere else.
Turning it off
Open Health Connect → App permissions → Glass Aurora Widgets and turn off access. You can turn off Physical activity in Settings → Apps → Glass Aurora Widgets → Permissions.
2. Other data the widgets use
All of the following is optional. Each item is used only by the widgets you choose to add.

3. Third-party services
The app contains no third-party SDKs for ads or analytics. To show weather and wallpapers it makes encrypted (HTTPS) requests to these services. Like any web request, they receive your IP address. We do not control them, and their own privacy policies apply:
- Weather: Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), MET Norway (api.met.no), wttr.in – they receive rounded coordinates or a city name.
- Place search: OpenStreetMap Nominatim, Open-Meteo Geocoding – they receive the city name you type.
- Approximate location without GPS: ipwho.is, ipapi.co – only if location permission is off, to estimate your city from your IP address for weather.
- Wallpapers: downloaded from our storage on Cloudflare R2 – no personal data is sent.
Health data (steps) is never sent to any of these services.
4. Data retention
- On our side: we do not operate servers that receive or store your personal or health data, so we do not store or retain any user data.
- On your phone: widget data (steps, saved city, last weather, notes, to-do items, picked photos) is kept in the app's private storage until you delete it, clear the app's data or uninstall the app. The latest weather is replaced on every update.
5. Data deletion
Because all data stays on your device, you can delete it yourself at any time:
- Delete everything: Settings → Apps → Glass Aurora Widgets → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app.
- Stop health access: Health Connect → App permissions → Glass Aurora Widgets → turn off. The app never writes to Health Connect, so it adds no data there to delete.
- Remove one widget's data: remove the widget from your home screen, or clear its note, to-do items or photo.
Request by email: you can also email info@huzaifanaeem.com with the subject “Glass Aurora data deletion”. We reply within 30 days. Since we hold no personal data on our side, we will confirm this and help you clear the data on your device.
6. Security
Data is stored in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. All network requests use HTTPS.
7. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
